Living close to the beauty of nature and the changing seasons is
important to me. Yet from time to time I find myself drawn to the
big city’s art museums, restaurants, theatres and concerts. I trade
my hiking boots, knitted sweater, and anorak for a dress, an
elegant coat, and a knitted beret, and I dream of romantic autumn
walks in Paris, strolling hand in hand with my darling through
Montmartre, feeling life pulse within me.
Or I dream of greeting early spring in Rome, when the mimosa and
almond trees are in bloom. I want to sit at a café wearing my beret,
writing poetry and drinking coffee after a long walk through the
Eternal City and a visit to the Vatican Museums, where my heart
melts before Giovanni Bellini’s Renaissance Madonna.
The Bellini Beret and the Bellini Wrist Warmers are inspired by my
longing to sit amid the bustle somewhere with a friend, talking for
a long time about things we wonder about and marvel at.
