This pattern is for a pair of ornately cabled socks. The cable itself is an Aran cable that is just perfect for socks. There’s enough “give” to make them comfortable, but enough unusual cabling to make them interesting to look at and fun to knit. There’s also a hint of lace to make the socks even more comfortable.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, lace knitting and cabling).

This pattern is charted only.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge. If you are knitting a L or XL, be sure to adjust your yarn to coordinate with needle size.

The sock pictured here was made with Malabrigo’s Sock yarn in colorway, Gris.

The sample was expertly pattern tested by Gay Fehr, who can be reached at: grf1956@ gmail.com.
