Pattern Description from Cast On, February-April 2010: “This pullover features a challenging Bavarian stitch pattern. This pattern is repeated across the garment to give it an embossed appearance. To create this appearance, all knit stitches must be worked through the back on the right side and all purl stitches must be worked through the back. This twists the stitch. Due to the complexity of the design, the shape of the sweater is very simple. The back is a rectangle with no armhole shaping. The front has a square opening for the neck. The sleeves have tabs for shoulder saddles. The shawl collar completes the look. If you select a size for a snug fit as for the model, the shawl collar lays flat against the skin. If you select a size for an oversized fit, the shawl collar can be folded over. The shawl collar is shaped by short rows.”
