Yes, I admit it. I am a Cat Lady (see my Instagram account for proof), and I’ve used this cat motif several times. When we decided to use stash yarn for some our designs in this issue, I went straight to my very large bag of Redfish DyeWorks Silk Sock yarn I’ve collected over the years. I chose orange and yellow as a tribute to my next-door neighbor’s ginger cat.

The samples show that I not only reversed the colors for the second sock but also the direction of the cat heads. On sock 2, the cat heads are upside down so you can see them when looking at your own foot!

I used Size 1 needles as I wanted a very dense fabric for the socks. As I was testing the design, I started with Size 2 needles and 64 stitches but the fabric was too light.
