his sweater is a modification of the Cabled Color Block (CCB) Pullover. The major difference is that this is a cardigan while the other is a pullover. I also decided to shorten both the sweater length and the sleeves. The cabled color blocks are the same. Since Elemental Affects Cormo has such a wide color palette, I wanted to showcase their more vibrant shades or, as my mother would have said, “colors that could wake the dead.” The colors of the pullover are pastels.

In the Spring 2018 issue, I designed a simple two-color top with a cable in the center using another of Elemental Affects’ yarns, Civility. I decided to use the same basic concept of color changes at the cables but using three colors this time.

This cardigan—like the pullover—is slightly oversized with drop-shoulder sleeves, shoulder saddles, and a wide neck opening.

The cardigan is graded as Intermediate due to the color changes. Two-color cables can be a bit tricky as they require both intarsia and stranded techniques. Unlike the Two-Color Cable Top, there is no color change in the neckband.
