Collected Slipover
Collected Slipover is part of the Driftwood (Spinster’s Daughter) Collection.
Details
The Collected Slipover features a top-down modified drop-shoulder construction. The back and front yokes are initially worked flat, separately, with shoulder shaping achieved through short rows worked in Garter stitch. The front and back yokes are joined at the bottom of the armholes, transitioning into working the body seamlessly in the round through the hem.
This slipover predominantly showcases the Interrupted Garter Stitch pattern, offering an interplay of texture and color throughout. The hem, sleeve cuffs, and collar are worked in an Interrupted 1x1 Twisted Rib, adding subtle contrasting details. The sleeve cuffs and collar are crafted post-completion of the main body.
Collected Slipover is designed with a relaxed fit of 5” / 12.5 cm positive ease suggested at the chest. While the pattern is written for a semi-cropped length, it can be easily adjusted (shorter or longer) to suit your preference.
Suggested Needles & Notions
Needle sizes are recommendations only; use sizes necessary to achieve specified gauge.
• Needle A - US 8 / 5 mm, 24” & 32”/ 60 cm & 80 cm (or longer) circular needles; DPNs or circular needle in preferred length for working a small circumference using the Magic-Loop method (Yoke & Body)
• Needle B - US 7 / 4.5 mm (or one size smaller than Needle A) 16” & 32” / 40 cm & 80 cm (or longer) circular needles plus DPNs or circular needle in preferred length for working a small circumference using the Magic-Loop method (Hem, Collar & Sleeve Cuffs)
• Scrap yarn or stitch holders to hold stitches
• Distinct BOR marker + 2 additional markers
• Removeable progress markers
• Scissors and darning needle
• Blocking mat and pins
Gauge Information
measured post-blocking
• Garter Stitch: 18 sts / 36 rows per 4” / 10 cm worked flat with Needle A
• Interrupted Garter Stitch: 18 sts / 31 rows per 4” / 10 cm worked flat and in the rnd with Needle A
• Interrupted 1x1 Twisted Rib
18 sts / 30 rnds per 4” / 10 cm worked in the rnd with Needle B
Note! To ensure proper fit, it is essential to gauge swatch and to block your swatch in the same manner as you will the finished garment. Take note of your row / round gauge prior to blocking. If you achieve stitch gauge but your row / round gauge is off, you can modify total number of rows / rounds worked for desired body length. For example: if your row gauge results in a higher number of rows per inch (than pattern gauge), you may need to work additional rows to achieve desired lengths.
