Diese Strickanleitung ist meiner Oma Elfriede gewidmet. Oma Elfriede war eine begnadete Sockenstrickerin.
Mit 59 wurde bei Oma Elfriede Brustkrebs diagnostiziert. Kurz nach ihrem 60. Geburtstag hatte sie den Kampf gegen den Krebs verloren.
Jede achte Frau erkrankt im Lauf ihres Lebens an Brustkrebs.
Das habe auch ich erfahren müssen. Während der Therapien durchläuft man ein riesiges Auf und Ab.
So sind meine Elfriede Socks mein Beitrag zum Socktober 2025: Mit ihrem welligen Knautschmuster stehen sie für das Auf und Ab in der Krebstherapie, vor allem für die Tage, an denen man sich total K.O. und knautschig fühlt und gut zu sich sein muss. Zum Beispiel mit gemütlichen Socken und warmen Füßen.
Die Anleitung ist meiner Oma Elfriede gewidmet und all den anderen Kämpferinnen, die mit dem Schicksal einer Krebserkrankung konfrontiert sind.

Garn: 4fach Sockengarn - Lauflänge: 420 m / 100 g

Konstruktion:
Die Elfriede Socks sind auf Gemütlichkeit angelegt. Sie starten mit einem sehr kurzen Rippenbündchen, gefolgt von dem Rechts-Links-Muster, das den Knautscheffekt ergibt. Die Käppchenferse passt jeder Fußform. Mit den Spickelabnahmen kannst du die Weite des Sockenfußes an Deine Füße anpassen. Den Abschluss bildet eine Bandspitze.

This knitting pattern is dedicated to my Grandma Elfriede. Grandma Elfriede was a gifted sock knitter.
Grandma Elfriede was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 59. Shortly after her 60th birthday, she lost her battle with cancer.
One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.
I had to experience this myself. During treatment, you go through enormous ups and downs.
So my Elfriede Socks are my contribution to Pinktober 2025: With their wavy, crumpled pattern, they represent the ups and downs of cancer treatment, especially those days when you feel totally exhausted and crumpled and need to take care of yourself. For example, with cozy socks and warm feet.
This pattern is dedicated to my Grandma Elfriede and all the other women who are facing the fate of cancer.

The pattern is written for any 4ply sock yarn with a yardage of 420 m / 100 g.

Construction:
The Elfriede socks are designed for comfort. They start with a very short ribbed cuff, followed by the left-right pattern that creates a crumpled effect. The capped heel fits every foot shape. The pointed toe allows you to adjust the width of the sock to your feet. The toe cap is finished with a band toe.
