ABOUT THE PATTERN
Ethereal is a drop-shoulder cardigan featuring wide sleeves and a relaxed fit. Its light, luminous appearance is achieved through the yarn, which includes a subtle shimmer. The design is inspired by dreams and an imaginary world, a reflection of what lives inside my mind. The cardigan can be worked with beads or without them.

Suggested yarn: Julie Asselin Anatolia Étoiles – 56% kid mohair, 40% silk, 4% lurex (150 yds / 138 m / 25 g). 5 (6, 7, 8) (9, 10, 11) skeins, colour: Lavande.

Recommended beads: Delica 8/0, round 8/0 or 6/0 and square 3 mm or 4 mm.

Crochet hook for beading US 12 – 0.60 mm, crochet hook for provisional CO US 7 – 4.5 mm, row counter (recommended), stitch marker, tapestry needle, waste yarn or 1 stitch holder, scrap yarn.

GAUGE
17 sts x 23 rows = 4” / 10 cm. Measured over lace stitch (Chart 2) after blocking, worked flat, with N1.

NOTES
The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down. It begins with a provisional CO, from which the back is worked first. Once complete, it is placed on hold. The fronts are worked separately from the same provisional CO. When both fronts are finished, they are joined to the back, casting on stitches at the underarm to shape the armholes, and the body is worked flat to completion. Stitches are then picked up around the armholes to work the sleeves in the round to a ¾-length. This design incorporates lace and beads inserted with a crochet hook as you work.
