I’ve designed several simple sleeveless dresses for the summer. I love classic designs, and I consider this one a classic that never goes out of fashion. Since we’ve been trying to have more designs for children, I thought Mother-Daughter dresses would be fun. Matching dresses wouldn’t really work since the adult dress is a fitted sheath in gray, but coordinated dresses would. I used the same yarn but different colors. Each dress features vertical lines created by working slipped stitches. And then there are the roses…which are optional of course! (See the Tea Roses pattern for yarn requirements should you want to add these to the dress.)

The dress is worked flat from the bottom up.

Use the Chest, Waist, and Hip measurements provided in the Finished Measurements to select a size. If you do not want the dress as fitted as the sample, simply work fewer waist decreases and select a size based on the Chest measurement.

P.S. The First Saturday name refers to the First Saturday in May. Here’s a hint: I live in Kentucky. (See the Tea Roses pattern for yarn requirements should you want to add these to the dress.)
