A little monster of a modular sock - sorry, of a PAIR of modular socks - made up of five single objects that get transformed into multiple components, and designed to be knitted by a team of five and put together in wild and wonderful ways. And yes, there are steeks. Eight of them.

9-24-11: I’m preparing an update to the pattern that will include the following:

• Yardage breakdown for the segments, so you can plan if you want to make each of them from a different yarn. For now you can find this information here.

• A suggested approach (with illustrated tutorial) for casting on the Lower Intertubez by working both Provisional COs on the same needle in alternating stitches.

• One actual correction/clarification: When working the Ace Bandage section, knit 1 full row into the waste yarn Provisional CO, and THEN join in the round and begin working the increase sequence. NB also - there is no reason not to work this segment in reverse if you prefer, i.e. by casting on at the widest part and using decreases to shape it.

ETA: I’ve been working up some special mods for the extra-high instep, and will probably incorporate those into the update as well - meanwhile, if this is an issue for you, contact me and I’ll send along my notes.
