This hat comes in 3 different styles- beanie, slouchy and watchcap. All three versions cast on the same number of stitches at the brim and are worked bottom up. Earflaps and tassels are added to the slouchy version but are optional, brim lengths and body lengths can also be adjusted. The crown shaping is the same for the beanie and watchcap and the slouchy has a more gathered crown shaping.

Needles
US 4 / 3.5mm circular needle, 16” /40cm length (for ribbing)
US 6 / 4mm circular needle, 16” / 40cm length (for brim)
US 6 / 4mm DPNs or long circular needle (if working magic loop for crown of hat)

Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
