♫ The Music

Hunter Moon, composed and sung so beautifully by Kate Rusby, shares the intertwining journey of love in the universe ~ reflected here in tiny heart cables.

These toe-up socks begin with a slipper toe. The instep is worked in a cable pattern while the sole is worked in Stockinette stitch (knit every round). Once increases for the gusset have been completed along the side of the sole, the short row heel cap is worked leading into a reinforced heel flap worked in the Eye of Partridge pattern - no need to pick up stitches. Both the front and back leg are worked in the cable pattern. Ribbing height is variable among the sizes to accommodate differences in personal row gauges.

Except for one cable (in Row 9) that is mirrored, the left and right sock are worked identically. To work the included bind off, the knitter must be able to ‘read’ their knitting i.e. identify knit and purl stitches as they present themselves on the needles.

Both charts and written directions for charts are provided. Each size has its own set of charts with accompanying written instructions.

The cables in these socks match those in the Hunter Moon Fingerless Mitts.
