Needles
1 US 6 / 4 mm and 2 US 8 / 5 mm circular needles, 24” / 60 cm or longer
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge
With US 8 / 5 mm needle and yarn held double
16 sts and 26 rows/rnds = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch, after blocking.
Cable chart (page 3): 25 sts x 40 rows/rnds = 4” x 6” / 10 cm x 15 cm.

Note
kareno / 枯野 is a boxy, cabled pullover worked from the top down. Front and back are worked separately at first, then joined at the underarm to be worked in the round down in one piece. After a lateral braid worked above the hem, the body is divided again and the front and back ribbings are worked back and forth. Sleeves sts are picked up around the arm opening and worked in the round to the cuff, then worked back and forth. The pullover can be worn WS out. Enjoy different faces of cables. kareno / 枯野 means dry winter grass filed in Japanese.

kareno / 枯野 はトップダウンで編むケーブル模様のボックス型セーターです. 各身頃は往復で脇下まで編み, そこから身頃を繋いで輪で裾まで編み, 裾は再び各身頃を分け, 往復でリブを編みます. 袖は袖開きから拾い目をして, カフスまで輪編みし, その後往復でリブ編みをします. このセーターは両面で着用することも可能です. 両面のそれぞれのケーブルの表情を楽しんでください.
