I had a selfish reason to design this hoodie. I tend to keep the temperature low in the winters. I have plenty of sweaters, but my neck gets cold. I thought a shawl collar sweater with a hoodie would be the perfect fix. The body of the sweater is super simple. It features drop-shoulder construction with a deep square opening for the shawl collar. The stitch pattern is an easily memorized cable. The hood is another story. It is worked as part of the shawl collar. Stitches are picked up around the neckline, and this requires careful planning so that the K2P2 ribbing pattern lines up with the body pattern. Stitches are increased at the back of the neck in intervals on either side of a central column of stitches to accommodate the back of the head. Two series of short rows are worked to create the shawl collar and to form the hood.

Generously sized sleeves guarantee a very cozy addition to your wardrobe.
