I had a skein of Miss Babs Estrellita left over from the “Holiday Sparkles” dress, and I couldn’t resist working up a pair of socks.

After looking through many stitch dictionaries, I chose this one as the design looked like the letter M to me. The letter M always reminds me of a linguistic test. I attended graduate school for Classical Studies in Buffalo, New York, which couldn’t have been more different from where I grew up in Utah. I was probably the only person from Utah there. My classmates’ favorite party trick was to have me say the three M words above. Since most of my classmates were from New York, they pronounced these three works differently. They are exactly the same to me, which apparently made me an idiot. I always think about this around the holidays, thanks to the “Merry.”

The lace pattern is worked on every round so it requires a bit more effort, but I think it is worth it!
