Mayville Cardigan
by Sarah Fama
Barbara Walker called the allover lacy stitch used in this easy-to-knit, easy-to-wear cardigan the “Lace Background Stitch,” but why should we relegate a cool stitch like this to the background? Here, the stitch is front and center, framed by a simple ribbed band. Dropped sleeves and minimal shaping (at the v-neck only) keep the look simple, and the soft drape of the fabric keeps it elegant.
