Nandina
Nandina is a triangular shawl worked flat sideways (from the tip to the bottom edge), using a simple twist stitch ribbing, with a bobble motif along the bottom section. The edges are worked with a slip stitch edge, making an I cord simultaneous edge that is continuous with the I-cord bind off.
Measures: 160 cm / 63” wingspan x 82 cm / 32.25” depth
Gauge: 25 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in 1/4 twist ribbing after blocking.
Gauge is not critical; different gauge will only affect finished size and yardage.
Yarn: DK weight yarn, approximately 800-1100 meters / 874-1200 yds
Yarns used for the sample:
Countess Ablaze The English Gentleman DK 50% BFL/ 50% Masham; 240 meters (262 yds) / 100 grams: Color: Shiver
Needles: 4 mm / US 6 circular needle, 60 cm / 24” length or longer, OR straight needles.
Notions: stitch markers (optional), tapestry needle, blocking board and pins.

Filato: filato di peso DK, all’incirca 800-1100 metri / 874-1200 yds
