This stitch pattern was in an 1884 London journal. There are 12 pattern rows; 6 of those are “purl across”. There’s a multiple of 6 stitches + 1 selvage stitch. I added that selvage stitch to control a yarn over at the very end of some rows. This is a particularly pleasant lace pattern to knit because it’s easy to “read”.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, YO, k2tog, SSK and bind off.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

55 yards of Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 thread will make 10 inches of a 31-stitch swatch at gauge.
