Paths Crossing Socks
This is a fun top-down cabled sock pattern. It is good for adventurous beginners and advanced knitters who are familiar with sock construction and knitting in the round. The cables include crossing over purl stitches so this would be a fun pattern to play with that skill for something new! There is something happening in most rows and there aren’t really any rest rows - there are cables every other row and the “resting” rows have both knit and purl stitches.
The pattern only includes charts for the leg and instep.
Materials:
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn (100 grams)
Needles and Notions:
- 2.25mm (US size 1) circular needle or size necessary to achieve gauge. The pattern is written for magic loop but easily adjusted for dpns
- Cable needle (if desired and you do not do cables without a cable needle)
- Tapestry (darning) needle
- Stitch markers (if desired)
Gauge:
34 stitches per 4 inches knit in pattern (7 stitches per inch in stockinette) in the round (my knitting is on the loose side)
Sizes:
Small (66 stitches) and large (72 stitches)
