This toe-up sock with a traditional heel flap and gusset, has a fun stranded pattern, with a differently patterned sole and gusset. You could use a gradient yarn as I have done for the sample, or two solids; even a selection of colours for the contrast would work well, the choice is yours!

Sizes - measured around mid-foot

  • Small - 7” (17.75cm)
  • Medium - 8 “ (20.25cm)
  • Large - 9” (22.75cm)
  • X Large - 10” (25.5cm)

Notions

  • stitch markers
  • tapestry needle for weaving in the ends

In terms of the amount of yarn you need, for all sizes I would suggest 100g of main colour, with the contrast you should be fine with 50g, unless you are making a large (or long) sock, in which case you may be safer with 100g of each.

Instructions for the construction of the socks are all written, the colourwork patterns are both charted and fully written out so you can choose which you prefer. The colours used in the charts are white and mid-grey.

I’d love it if you’d come to my group to show off your lovely socks, or chat about them while you’re making them. You’d be very welcome!
