One Skein Shawl
We all fall in love with those skeins of loveliness we feel we must have – especially hand-dyed ones, if you’re like me! Rustique is a one-skein shawl made to show off fingering yarn with a simple but striking pattern of eyelet sections in between garter-stitch sections. Worked top-down, you start with the longer side and decrease your
way to the end, using short rows to create a pleasing shape. A simple knit-on border embraces the shawl edges at the end. The wool and linen blend of Limmo Design’s Rustik yarn gives an amazing drape and texture.

This shawl is also a good project for beginners who are ready to move on to the next level. Rustique uses short rows for shaping, which is a good technique to learn before moving on to making garments (a short row is one where you work only part of the row).

There is an instruction in this pattern on how to make this shawl using a skein of about 425 m/464yds instead of the recommended skein which has a slightly longer yardage.
