This design is the third of a series—twelve cowls in sequence knitting for 2024. This month, we’re working the {k3, p3} sequence flat in a serpentine method, and seaming it in an interesting way to shape the cowl. Traditional instructions and a chart are included in the pattern, as well as sequence knitting instructions.

Next month, we’re moving on to a different sequence, and a simple spiral cowl.

This is an easy project. The techniques you will need to know, or learn, to complete the cowl are:

  • cast on and bind off;
  • knit and purl;
  • simple seaming.

Errata: The pattern repeat in the chart is wrong. The image on the left is correct.
