Soufflé Camisole is a a design made using Cardiff Cashmere Classic, a light and airy DK weight yarn that inspires the name of the design.
Given the soft and comfortable feel of the yarn, I decided to design a wardrobe staple that is versatile, can be worn close to the skin, and is practical all-seasons. It can be layered with a light shirt or worn on its own, which is what I do in tropical Singapore. It can be layered under or over a sweater in cooler climate. It does not use a huge quantity of this precious yarn, making this design a good option for someone who wishes to have a little luxurious item that can be worn often.
Soufflé Camisole is worked in the round from the bottom with a folded picot hem. Simple lace pattern on the front and back run vertically from the hem to the neckline. Stitches from the lace appear to run along the front v-neck, meeting stiches along the arm openings and finishing together to form i-cord shoulder straps.
The v-neck front is worked higher than the back. Shoulder straps are worked from the front and seamed to the back using Kitchener Stitch.
Working the shoulder straps last, you can follow the tips described in the instructions on how to try on your camisole and work well-fitting length for your straps.
