I love how a relatively small change to a stitch pattern can yield a big change in the end result. This design started with my Jagged Little Hat chart, added a couple of rows and instead of jagged diagonal stripes I ended up with what I am calling squiggly blips. For maximum flexibility the hat body can end after any even numbered round - there is a different crown for each end point to keep the squiggles and blips going as far as possible up to the top.

This is a quick to knit hat with an easy to remember slipped stitch pattern worked in two colours. It is meant to be worn with 1-3”/2.5-7.5 cm of negative ease, sitting just above the bottom of the earlobes.

The sample yarns I used are on the light side of aran so a heavy worsted weight could easily be used instead. The pattern also includes advice for using a lighter worsted weight yarn.
