STOORBRA SOCKS

Stoorbra socks are one size over socks suitable for wearing at home in front of the fire as the days get shorter and the nights draw in. They can be used as boot socks but are not intended for everyday use as Shetland wool will not withstand daily wash and wear. I have chosen unbleached, organically dyed Shetland wool from Uradale which is very soft and reflects the colours of Shetland. The socks, shown in two colourways, are worked from the top down, with a traditional heel flap.

I would recommend using 100% Shetland wool for best results, the ultimate in keeping you warm.

The pattern is one size adult but the actual size can be changed quite dramatically using larger or smaller needle sizes.
Please pay particular attention to the required tension as my knitting tends to be close.

This design uses 4 shades.
