This vest is almost the easiest doll clothes pattern I can think up! It’s a rectangle of garter stitch with 2 slots for armholes. The “sl1 p-wise, ytb” at the beginning of every row makes a nice finished edge but you can work plain garter stitch, if you like.
Make sure the armholes allow your doll’s hands to pass through unless the hands are removable. This vest is 5.5 inches wide and 2.75 inches long when blocked. Feel free to make the vest larger or smaller as needed. I recommend using needles 1 or 2 sizes larger than usual to get better drape at this small scale. Embellish the vest with ribbon, beads: anything you like.

Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is important in this pattern. Any yarn/needle combination that makes gauge will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

26 yards of Misti Alpaca Hand Paint Lace will make a vest. About 1 yard of Le Paon #8 pearl cotton was used as a contrast color. Model is 10” Bambicrony brand BJD.
