Big, bold but stately, this pattern was used for a yachting jersey from ca. 1898 Weldon’s Practical Needlework. This texture could be used for almost anything in any gauge but it would look great in an afghan. The pattern has 22 rows and has a 15-stitch repeat +3 edge stitches to balance the pattern.
It’s all just knit and purl! So easy, divided attention is okay while knitting this!

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl and bind off.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
