Twisted Bars
This 1884 knitted lace from London has only 2 pattern rows, making it quick to knit. It has a multiple of 6 stitches + 2 selvage stitches. This lace is almost identical front and back.
The original pattern called for k3tog in row 1 but I used SK2P because it was easier for me. Feel free to experiment with other double decreases and more or fewer purl stitches to suit your taste. I happen to like the contrast in texture between the nubby, wide columns and the lacy, uniform columns.
Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl, YO, SK2P and bind off in knit stitch.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
48 yards of Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 thread will make 10 inches of a 32-stitch swatch at gauge.
