This 2-color pattern is from ca. 1899 Weldon’s Practical Needlework, vol. 12, p.12, no. 22. It’s easy and good-looking. The only change I made was to add 2 rows to the pattern to avoid breaking and reattaching the contrasting color every 4 rows.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, change yarn colors and bind off.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
