Knitting: Sleeveless Top, Vest
Single pattern now available and has been re-edited to avoid known errata.
Knitting: Mittens
These cosy mittens are designed as a twinned pair – in that the left and right hand clearly go together, but they each have a different tree on them – to start hinting at the beautiful and essential diversity of forests. Bomen means trees in Dutch, but also chatting.
Knitting: Pullover
Halvis is a lightweight sweater with a generous cut around the body that works perfectly in a yarn with a little drape. The length of the body is very slightly cropped (but easy to adjust, with clear guidance given in pattern), making it great for transitional weather and layering. Three-quarter-length sleeves keep your hands free for more knit...

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Nathalie du Pasquier is a painter and founding member of the Memphis Group, a cohort of artists, designers and architects based out of Italy during the 1980s. The palette and construction of this shawl is inspired by her paintings, in combination with classic Memphis-style intercepting stripes and colour blocks. Whether in punchy or subdued col...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Kleur means colour in Dutch. This asymmetric shawl is made up of two approaches to coloured yarn – dyed and undyed. While the shawl is worked in easy garter stitch (with a good smattering of simple eyelets), there are plenty of fun details and clever twists to keep things entertaining and the shawl reversible.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
As knitters we hold the power to create stuff in our hands. Sometimes we have to frog, but mostly we make things rather than destroy them. Let’s blow up the idea that destruction is more powerful than creation. Boom! Dyna Mitts, designed to look like bundled sticks of dynamite, and keep your hands warm while active.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The cosy, slightly slouchy Noga Hat is worked from the bottom up using Marlisle to create alternating diamond motifs. A 2x2 ribbed brim holds it on the head, and beyond that, the ‘background’ for the noga bloks is marled in reverse stocking stitch all the way to the crown (bad dental pun - the design is inspired a Dutch candy).
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Every knitter deserves a feather in their cap simply for being a knitter. We are adventurous, creative and resourceful. The fact that there is always something new to turn our hands (and brain) to is what keeps knitting so satisfying. Whether we are a relative beginner or have a lifetime of experience, in our constant quest to learn and try mor...

Knitting: Mittens
Dense and squooshy, with eye-catching patterning - fun to knit and perfect for keeping your hands warm when it’s really cold. These mittens are knitted using Marlisle, a combination of two yarns held together to make a marl and worked separately as stranded colourwork (aka fairisle) to create pops of patterning. Because you are always carrying ...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This close-fitting hat is knitted in the round using five colours; it incorporates a fun twist on bobbles with areas of garter, slipped, and travelling stitches to create a densely textured knit. Only two colours are ever in action in a single row with a third colour being slipped.

Knitting: Cardigan, Sleeveless Top
Pen Pal is a fun puzzle of almost-one-piece construction: the body is formed by a mitre on each front, which leaves only two short seams to sew up to the shoulder. Short rows create a deep plunging V, ideal for wearing open, or the single big button can bring together the mitre fronts like a sticker on the back of an envelope. The sleeves, if y...
Knitting: Scarf
This pattern is the fruits of collaboration with Gather, a magical little yarn store in the very heart of Down Town Los Angeles in the sunny land of California. You can find it nestled in an upstairs corner of The Last Bookstore, which has a tunnel built out of books and a large fantasy section. Basically it’s just the sort of place you’d expec...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
It has been thrilling to watch the crafting world turn our hands to making pussy hats in a collective show of creativity and dissent initiated by the Pussy Hat Project in a beautiful and inspiring call to craft. The project was started in November 2016 with the aim of making over a million hats to be worn at the Women’s March in Washington DC. ...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Two hats in one pattern. Fair Isle Friday and Almost Saturday are knitted in the round from brim to crown with DK weight yarn. Starting with 1x1 ribbing (to keep them snugly on your head) and continuing into stripes, they finish with a colourworked top (only ever using two colours at once). They are finished with an optional pompom.
Knitting: Pullover
Who doesn’t love stripes? It’s certainly a joy knitting them, especially when they are skinny enough to leave no ends to weave in. Sadly wearing horizontal stripes tends to get a bad rap, especially on those of us with knitter’s physique. So here the Breton stripe is flipped the other way. By working flat from side to side, vertical stripes can...
Knitting: Cardigan
All the fun of the fair! This cardigan is designed to be a joy to wear and keep you comfortable yet happy and entertained while knitting. “Kermis” means fair in Dutch, hence the colourways are Toffee Apple (red/pink/purple), Carousel (grey/turquoise/blue) and Sparrow (cause those little birdies are a beautiful colour and always up for the spill...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A triangular shawl made up of two types of triangle conjoined. A large isosceles triangle is worked in a lace stitch that I devised to resemble crochet at first glance. Made up of stitch clusters, which form triangles and tear shaped holes, it is knitted using large needles for a nice open gauge. This is edged by a smaller right-angled triangle...
Knitting: Pullover, Tee
Everything about this tee is designed to utilise the exciting properties of linen. Wonderfully oversized to make maximum use of linen’s superior drape, further heightened by the fact it is knitted on much larger needles then you would ordinarily approach a 4ply/fingering weight.
Knitting: Pullover
A relaxed fit long-sleeved sweater with an eyelet lace body and floral design stranded yoke. Bi-colour ribbed cuffs, waistband and collar. Body and sleeves knitted from the bottom up.
Knitting: Pullover
A quirkily sweet sweater for the little folks in your life, Mini Sólja is knitted in DK weight yarn from the bottom up. It incorporates an easy eyelet lace body leading into a stranded colourwork yoke inspired by the vibrant embroidered necklines of Guatemalan and Mexican huipil and the slightly more subdued yokes of 1960s Fair Isle cardigans....
Knitting: Cowl
The stitch is Linen Stitch, but not as we know it. Usually used to knit an exceptionally dense fabric, doubling the needle size suddenly takes us in to uncharted lacy territory. Let’s call it Expanded Linen Stitch. Knitting it in lace weight linen trebles the linen content - hence “Treble Linen”.
Knitting: Cloche Hat
Through the use of clever short rows, this hat has its pompom on the back, rather than on top, which you have to admit is classier. Short rows are so called because you knit multiple rows on only a ‘short’ section of the main row. This gives extra depth to certain areas of your knit and not others. Horizontal bands are formed by alternating rev...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Let me explain what looks like dodgy maths in the name of this hat: two colours are worked together in a one stitch by one stitch pattern: one colour held in each of your two hands to make a two-sided fabric.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
A unisex adult beanie knitted in a simple cable. It is named after the number of cables that traverse it and a bar in San Francisco’s Castro neighbourhood. Knitted from a single 50gr ball of Blacker Shetland 4ply, there’s even enough to make the pompom. The specific colour is called Pure Plum and is overdyed Shetland Grey. It has fitted all the...
Knitting: Scarf
A long, bias knit, garter stitch, diagonally striped scarf specially designed to utilise one skein of Appleton Crewel Wool for each stripe. Can be worn wrapped multiple times or folded double as the mood takes you. The placement of the eyelets form a decorative edge, borders to the stripes and make the scarf completely reversible. The final mea...
Knitting: Beret, Tam
An adult sized slouchy hat with arcs of bobbles in simple lace, like little islands in an archipelago. Knitted in the round from the brim to the crown (bottom up) in a single colour.
