The hat is a quick and fun knit while the mittens take a little diligence to follow the charting that is left and right hand oriented, however the effort is worth it.

Harbor Sails is a stylishly reversible scarf with appeal for both men and woman. It was designed in a fine sport weight breed specific yarn: solitude wool Border Leicester Sport. It is a fine sport weight, not listed on Rave!ry.

I have always adored having a matching set of hat and mittens and that is why I am offering you this two for one pattern.

I wrote this pattern for those of you looking for a small project for your first batch of home spun worth knitting up. I had several yarns before this one that were not suitable for display, or my knitting needles. (it can always be used for stash yarns too, and a great quick gift knit)

Monty is short for the Montadale breed of sheep who provided the wool for Solitude Wool’s Montadale yarn. This is a woolen spun yarn that is very light weight.
