Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This pattern was inspired by Felici fans. This simple asymmetrical triangular shawl was designed to showcase the beauty of self-striping yarns.
Knitting: Headband
This pattern was designed for the March for Science on April 22, 2017. It is my hope that it is only needed once.
Knitting: Cowl
Here’s a sweet something to do with that one skein of a special yarn in your stash. There’s garter stitch and a lace cable that alternates to keep the knitting interesting. Luxury to wear and gift to someone special.
Knitting: Pillow / Cushion
This oversized pillow was inspired by the southwestern travels of my great grandfather in 1906.
Knitting: Scarf
Easy lace, cables, and beads for sparkle flow in a current down the scarf reminding me of our local Little River. Preciosa Tonal relaxes significantly when blocked yielding a generous yet light fabric. Beading is optional, but the pattern is a good beginner beading project.
Knitting: Cowl
You decorate the tree, now you can decorate yourself for the holidays with this whimsical double knit cowl. I was inspired by the memory of my mother, who loved a red cowl and kept Christmas well. This piece uses standard and double knit techniques but should be achievable for advanced beginners. The design removes some of the pain points of do...
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
I had fun with sparkly and tweedy sock yarn, imagining a log cabin with eyes glowing from the forest. Added in God’s Eye motifs for protection to make everything all right. You can write your own novel with these socks just don’t let the teenager touch that doorknob!
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This design was prompted by a family member needing a new chemo hat for spring. I thought it would be a great addition to go with the Soaring Cowl. There is a little bit of close lace to keep it cool and a bit of privacy in the back.
Knitting: Scarf
This design is inspired by one of my favorite beaches and reminds me of the curling foamy surf against the sea beyond. The pattern uses yarn overs, decreases and a cable worked on the wrong side to make a more relaxed rippling cable texture.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This design has been loafing in my mind for over a year now. At first I swatched for a cowl in the round but I kept slipping the swatch onto my arm. The lace and garter motif scrunched on my arm and looked like jewelry to me. How fun! How many rings? I leave that option open to you. Also, although my sample is in two colors there is nothing to ...
Knitting: Cowl
This cowl is luxuriously wide and made to drip and drape over your shoulders. As I was charting the lace motif, it reminded me of airplanes and how I love to fly on vacation. In a sport weight yarn, it is a nice thing to have or knit when that little overhead airline A/C vent is blowing at you.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A cozy hug in a simple, yet elegant wrap. Easy to knit with only a few written lines of instruction. For the times when you like to knit without a chart!
Knitting: Cowl
Simple, stylish, and fast to knit, this cowl will add a pop of color to any wardrobe. Double loop it and go.
Knitting: Pillow / Cushion
It all started when I got a skein of Bernat’s Glow In The Dark yarn. I thought of glowing things and Hubble space shots came to mind. I made a swatch but didn’t think I had the right yarn or idea for the project. I put the swatch on Pinterest with the notation “Pillow?” Someone repinned with the idea of a pillow for a boy’s room. Perfect! I wor...
Knitting: Cowl
A romantic, loose flowing cowl that features pleats, a two color motif, and a picot finish.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves, Cowl
I saw my first peacock in the wild when I was a child. My parents had taken us to their friend’s house on the eastern shore of Maryland. I had only ever seen them in cages at zoos. I was completely amazed when I saw one strut casually across the driveway. Fabulous.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A light stole for evenings on the beach or the theater. The relaxed ripples add another dimension to the undulating color waves of the Swish Tonal.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Inspired by Eastern Henna body designs. About the interpreted symbols: the linked circles represent luck and the checkerboard on the sole represents games.
Knitting: Scarf
My inspiration came from the pastoral intern at my church who wore a simple thin ribbed knit scarf and refused to take it off inside the 108 year old building with intermittent heat. I thought this would look smashing on her and as an indoor/outdoor piece.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
My husband saw this design and said it reminded him of his favorite cartoon. This hat is for him but I found I liked it too.
