Knitting: Pullover
This round-yoke pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down. Concentric rings of simple textured patterns separated by bands of garter stitch adorn the length of the yoke and body. Short rows are worked into the ribbed neckband and increases are concealed in the bands of garter stitch. There is an optional full bust adjustment when dividing...

The Traveling Hat was designed in collaboration with Melissa Littlefield of Knitting the Stash using her locally grown and spun Shorn II yarn. The same cable pattern used in the travelling mitts wraps around this hat, utilizing the stretchy properties of double rib worked in wool to create a versatile, well-fitting hat.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These mitts are the result of a collaboration between me and Melissa Littlefield of Knitting the Stash, using her farm-to-skein Shorn II yarn. When the skeins arrived at my studio I knew this round 3-ply yarn would make excellent cables, and one skein would be perfect for a pair of fingerless mitts. I spent the next few weeks experimenting with...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
After a long winter, I love watching the leaves begin to turn green and the flowers start bloom. The hot pink speckles in the contrast color yarn reminded me of the bright pink peonies blooming among the green leaves of spring.
Knitting: Pullover
Relying more on spare elegance than baroque intricacy, the cables of this refined sweater balance ornamentation with simplicity. Cabled windows peek out onto fields of reverse stockinette, reminding us that embellishments rely as much on what isn’t there as what is.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The inspiration for this shawl started with the yarn. The boldly variegated pink and black of the Cabaret colorway in Manos Del Uruguay’s Alegria required something special. After poring over pictures of Can Can dancers with their ruffled skirts and fishnet stockings, I developed this shawl pattern. The semi-solid main color provides the perfec...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The Santa Cruz Wrap is a refreshing update on the classic lace stole: it trades frilly lace motifs for a geometric, eye-catching, modern design that uses openwork techniques. This wrap begins with a circular cast-on and is worked in rounds with increases at the corners to create a square.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Storm Clouds features a textural lace pattern and delicate picot bind-off. The shawl grows rapidly in width to create a long and narrow crescent shape that can be worn in many different ways, and the bold lace pattern is well suited to gradient or semi-solid yarns. The pattern includes both written directions and charts.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Voyager is a simple shawl with interesting details. Worked without a single purl stitch, the pattern is easy enough to knit while reading or watching a movie, or enjoying the scenery on a trip. A nautical inspired stripe pattern punctuated with rows of eyelets spices up plain garter stitch, and the cabled i-cord bind off finishes the shawl with...
Knitting: Cardigan
Along with sunshine and flowers, celebrate the change in season with a change in wardrobe. Inspired by the new growth of Spring, lacy leaves cascade down the back of this cardigan, growing and wrapping around to the front, like budding leaves exploding with the season.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Undulating stripes in alternating colors are separated by narrow bands of eyelets, like wisps of fog in a cloudy sky. The simple shape and easily memorized lace pattern of this shawl make for relaxing knitting, and the various stripes create an opportunity to experiment with color and use up small amounts of stashed yarn.
Knitting: Pullover
The Bristol Raglan pullover features nautical stripes, simple rope cables, three-quarter length sleeves, and a longer back hem. Top-down, seamless raglan construction makes it an easy knit.
Knitting: Cardigan
Jean’s Jacket is simple, practical cardigan with delicate feminine details. The marled blue color reminds me of the denim jackets that were so popular in the 1980s, and the tight twist of a sock yarn gives this cardigan the same rugged durability.
Knitting: Cardigan
The Back and shoulders of this cardigan are worked first, top down, with raglan shaping, then underarm stitches are cast on and the Back is worked to the seed stitch hem with dart shaping. Sleeve stitches are then returned to the needles and worked in the round to the seed stitch cuffs. Stitches for the Fronts are picked up from the sides of th...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Inspired by streaks of purple lightning shooting through a dark sky, this shawl is worked in an asymmetric chevron pattern in two colors. The irregular contrast color stripes are perfect for showing off a bright or highly variegated yarn, or that special leftover skein. The simple lace pattern will make the knitting go as fast as lightning!

A top-down raglan pullover with lace decoration on the raglan seamlines, three-quarter length sleeves, and a high-low ribbed flounce attached at the hem. Fingering weight yarn is held double for the body of the sweater and the skirt is worked in laceweight.

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl combines two different stitch patterns to create a fabric that reminds me of rain falling on water. Short row wedges and a wavy edge add to the watery feel, while the double yarn overs in the mesh pattern mimic thousands of raindrops.

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap, Scarf
The Twin Cities of Pineville and Alexandria are both joined and separated by the Red River. The geographic center of Louisiana, this area has become my second home and this pattern was designed for the friends I’ve made there.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
The name Downtown Alley comes from my mother’s mispronunciation of the name of our favorite show, Downton Abbey. Although these fingerless gloves were inspired by the elegant long gloves worn by the ladies on the show, they would be quite out of place at Highclere Castle. The opposite of High Street fashion, Downtown Alley fingerless gloves are...

Miss Suzanne is a casual, comfortable cardigan that is as easy to knit as it is to wear. Madeline was designed to make the most of one skein of hand-dyed yarn. The loose gauge creates a fabric with drape even when using a tightly spun sock yarn. The work begins at the upper right corner and gradually increases to the left edge. A simple lace edging is worked along with the body of the shawl and curves around to finish the bound off...
