Woodlee was inspired after watching The Glee Project and smiling over, the hat’s namesake, Zach Woodlee’s happy hands. In several episodes he wears a slouch that has a subtle spiral stitch to it. Really, that is fairly where the comparison stops. I have no idea what stitch is used on his hat, or if it is lined like this one; it’s just the point...

The Beaufort Scale is the empirical measurement of wind speed. Often thought more about at hurricane forces, a light breeze is categorized as a 2. This cowl is designed for Anzula’s Breeze, a lace weight linen and silk blend, and lives up to the name being lightweight and perfect for warm days. The yarn has little memory and and lots of stretch...

Worked in one piece, this teether knits up fast for the last minute shower gift or frantic teething assistance. While designed for a wooden teething ring it fits just fine on many plastic rings as well. Hand spun Malabrigo Angora doesn’t go far, but it so precious. A ribbed band runs around the ears and adds extra warmth while merino finishes the hat off while using up the last little bit of the angora. Worked as either a beanie or slouch.

A great friend told me she would try colorwork if I made her something simple and fun. We sat together one knit night and played with some simple repeating patterns and went with this jagged diagonal. If you are brand new to colorwork, this is a great no pressure place to start - mistakes are fairly hidden and you can get a good feel for using ...

These mitts were designed on a cold dreary fall day that I made meatloaf for dinner. In the poor lighting of my dining room the mitts I had been working on all afternoon actually did resemble our dinner and the similarity struck me. Thick and hearty, warm and soft. So, the Meatloaf Mitts. Just perfect for wearing over lightweight gloves. My fam...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl is worked in 3 parts as if the yarn is conversing with itself along the way. It begins with a single stitch and expand into a squishy garter stitch base. The yarn overs along the two sides of the triangle will be picked up and knit, allowing for the yarn to change direction during the simple crosshatch Kisses lace chart. The final se...
Knitting: Cowl
One skein of Rasta makes a beautiful quick and warm cowl. Silk ribbon adds a touch of delicacy to the thick rope-like yarn while highlighting itʼs beautiful dye work. Easy lace, it’s a one night knit!
Knitting: Cowl
This cowl is worked in panel repeats and is easy to memorize. It’s easily customized, so it will work for a large range of weights as long as you keep the one section tight. Perfect for the guy on your ‘knit for’ list as well.
Knitting: Electronics Cozy, Tissue Box Cover
Tissue packets just aren’t pretty enough on their own. They need a cute case! A few cables and a sweet button should do the trick. This is also well sized for other small things that need a little pretty.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
First knit as a baby gift for friends, the Cosset pattern is widely versatile. The newborn size will fit though 6 months, due to ribbing growth and the brim that diminishes as the baby’s head grows longer. While already written in two sizes, it is easy to customize by changing the gauge & base. The rib pattern makes fit very versatile. This...

Continuing with the Mythology series and the addictive cable repeat comes Bellerophon. He slew the Chimera. When designing for Buffalo Gold, the Chimera pattern just wasn’t compatible with the sport weight yarn, so a new direction was needed! What is more perfect than a super warm and easy care hat?
