Knitting: Beanie, Toque
A zippy little number, great for using up odds and ends of yarn. Caution! This stitch pattern requires frequent increases and decreases, be prepared to experiment with different tip styles.
Knitting: Throw
A super warm and cozy blanket (56” diameter) inspired by big bold abundant flowers. Additional variety in design is created with the use of four repeats in the main body of the blanket. Use of a flexible approach to the start/finish of round position eliminates joggles in the main motif.

An excellent introduction to the delights of double-knitting in the round. No changes of direction or edges to fret about. The motifs offered are easy geometric motifs. (If you don’t fancy tackling the brim it can be bound off as a headband.) Brim and crown options may be mixed and matched. The Diamond pattern is the easiest of the two motifs.

This self-sizing hat features a brim knit sideways in any stripe pattern that you fancy. The brim length determines the number of stitches which are then knitted up along the edge. A visible stitch fold is created before beginning stripes up to the extended crown and bobbles.

Knitting: Cowl, Cuffs
A decorative sideways-knit neck or wrist-warmer with short row shapings. These are enhanced by the use of scallop holes of different sizes. Minimal finishing is required. The final garment can be fastened with buttons or joined in the round.
Knitting: Bag - Other
Inspired by the Banksia Grandis plant of Western Australia, this bag was designed with openings resembling the exterior of the plant’s cone. The scallop holes are quick and fun to make and do not involve casting on or binding off. I-cord straps finish the bag which can be felted if preferred.
Knitting: Tote
A versatile bag worked in the round in a spiraling lacy pattern that gradually decreases as it winds its way up the bag to finish in a short-row Spider strap. The strap is then knitted into the bag in six places to give excellent support.
Knitting: Wall Hanging
This blanket or wall-hanging was inspired by traditional woven Ashanti fabrics. The knitting is copious but easy; the finishing stages, involving multiple steeks and mattress stitch, are more demanding. A cushion makes an ideal test swatch for the wall-hanging.

Impress your friends with this warm reversible scarf! The two sides are dramatically different, the better to draw attention to your double-knitting prowess. There is also an option to spice things up with the addition of the ‘pearls’ as you progress.

These tipsy striped squares are created by the directional biasing of the lines of decreases. Each section of the bag is knit onto a previous piece and the whole requires only minimal finishing. Limitless variations are possible.

An outrageous bag for the light-hearted knitter. Worked in the round with integral strap loops made in the edge before moving into two-colour stranded knitting. The teats are knitted into the udder using waste yarn openings with an optional double-knitting method given to speed the knitting of the teats.

Knitted chain mail? It requires a degree of patience, but is immensely entertaining. The result is very striking, however, it is unsuitable for serious in-battle wear! Single loops also make great earrings.
