Polperran is a fresh, lacy sock perfect for spring and summer. To balance out the lace on the front, there is plenty of stockinette at the sides, with two delicate columns of 1/1 cables on either side of the heel to add some stability. The ribbing between the cables adds additional stretch (and ‘grip’).

These socks are named after one of Agatha Christie’s most famous novels, Murder on the Orient Express. These socks are a simple knit with most of the sock being knit in 1x1 twisted stitch rib. The motif, found in one of Barbara Walker’s Treasuries appears under the cuff and at the toe for some interest.

These socks are inspired by the Agatha Christie novel The Mystery of the Blue Train, featuring Hercule Poirot. The story centers around a murder and jewel theft on ‘The Blue Train’, a famous train which took the wealthy from Paris to the French Riviera.

Tread lightly, for here be cables! Lots of cables!

This elegant herringbone pattern is well-suited for both men’s and women’s socks. The firm fabric created by the herringbone motif is balanced by ribbing on either side of the leg which adds enough stretch for a great fit. Perfectly elegant for office wear while still looking great kicking back in casual clothes.

The shawl begins with a garter stitch tab and is worked from the top down, with increases along the edge and spine. There are 2 motifs which form the body of the shawl and a knitted on edging. The twisted stitches in this sock give the pattern its name, reflecting the intricacies of old-fashioned wrought iron. To counter-balance how the cabled stitches pull in the fabric slightly, the back of the sock is covered with a simple 4 stitch ribbed repeat. The ribbing is slightly cabled to complement the cabling on the front of the sock.

Get ready for warmer weather with a light, airy knit! These lacy socks incorporate two different, yet complementary leaf patterns. The main lace panels on the front and back of the leg feature a triple leaf motif. A single leaf pattern trails down each side of the leg and onto the foot.

Inspired by a dear friend who convinced me to give toe-up socks a chance, these socks are a quick and satisfying knit. The lines flow into one another, reminding me of swirls of water or ripples on a field of snow on a winter morning.

Inspired by some richly toned Handmaiden Casbah yarn, these socks were created to do justice to this lovely yarn. I wanted a pattern that was as voluptuous as the Casbah itself. For me, that means bold, stunning cables that capture the eye immediately.
