Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
At first glance, the pattern for this motif looks almost identical to my “Two Colour Solid Granny Square” …and yes, it is very similar except we are adding in some extra increases as the square gets bigger so that the fabric maintains a good density, i.e. the fabric doesn’t become see-though as the stitches stretch across the rows.
Crochet: Cowl
A full bodied cowl crocheted with the distinctive texture of this chevron crochet stitch, is achieved by working stitches between posts and alternating rows with two colours.
Crochet: Toys and Hobbies - Other
Here’s a totally pointless but very cute item … a quick and easy project.
Crochet: Hanging Ornament
I designed these baubles for a workshop I taught at the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre in Walton-on-Thames and have now published it as a stand alone pattern as well as an online, access anytime course.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This hat was inspired by the stitch pattern I used for the ‘Droman’ sweater in issue 2 of The Journal of Scottish Yarns. I wanted to use colour changes in the rows to accentuate the peaks and troughs that the stitch sequence creates.
Crochet: Afghan block
I designed this motif for “Granny Square Day 2022 “. This variation of the traditional granny square is easy to memorise and can easily be made larger if desired.
Crochet: Fingerless Gloves
The Loch Maree Mitts are inspired by a hike around Loch Maree in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. Ideal for cooler days when a full pair of gloves or mittens might be too much, these mitts provide a surprising amount of comforting warmth.
Crochet: Cardigan
The Cùl Mòr Cardigan is a short cardigan with 3/4 length sleeves and a waterfall front that has optional buttons and loops to wear it closed.
Crochet: Afghan block
I designed this variation of a granny square to make a sweater. It’s a quick and simple three round motif.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
The perfect pattern for using up scraps of hand-dyed yarn and also precious mini skeins.
Crochet: Hair accessories
Quick, fun & easy, these hairband covers are a great way to use up & showcase your precious scraps of hand-dyed yarn. Once you’ve made one, you might not be able to stop!

This simple, cotton, mesh bag features a crocheted lucet tie-cord and a hanging loop to help your soap dry out between uses and keep it out of the direct flow of water when used in the shower. It’s also a great way to store and use up small, leftover pieces of soap.
Crochet: Decorative - Other
A simple little crocheted mesh tea light cover, made in one piece– starting from the bottom up. Designed to use minimal yarn and repurpose those glass ramekins from ready made puddings such as Gü and Bon Maman.
Crochet: Containers
This handy little crocheted basket design with handles, is a spin off from my “Three Little Bowls” pattern. A quick and simple pattern, this small basket uses three strands of Aran or Worsted weight yarns, held together. You could use three strands of the same colour or three different colours, for a lovely variegated effect. I love using multi...
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
A simple facecloth in single crochet - made special with a slip stitch surface design in a contrasting colour & finished with a textured, reverse single crochet border. Make it in soft cotton for the perfect, colour coordinated bathroom accessory. I have also made pairs of flannels, in opposite colours, with matching, handmade soap as gifts.
Crochet: Money Purse
A simple little crocheted purse made in one piece– starting from the bottom up, in a spiral. The flap is then worked flat without breaking off the yarn and includes a button loop.
Crochet: Decorative - Other
This cute owl is made using Amigurumi crochet techniques. The pattern is written using Aran weight yarn to produce an owl that is about 7” / 18cm tall but you could use any yarn weight with corresponding hook size to make a larger or smaller owl.
Crochet: Containers
I wrote this pattern about 5 years ago when I was teaching a day class for the Surrey Women’s Institute. Since then, I have often used it for 2 hour “taster” classes. Don’t worry – it won’t take you 2 hours to make one of these little bowls! I have made the smaller one in less than 30 minutes.
Crochet: Floral block
I designed this motif back in 2014 for an in-person bag making course that I teach at the Riverhousebarn Arts Centre in Walton-on-Thames.
