The gorgeous color (Frolic) I used brought to mind the Old Forest in Tolkien’s work, located east of the Shire and once stretching all the way to Fangorn Forest. With it’s deep, rich colors dappled with light, this yarn evokes the spirit of the forest!

The hardest part of these socks is choosing which lovely Cascade color to use! I used Lilac, color # 5614.

The color I used is called Chocolate Lab, which is the loveliest brown, it almost glows. While working on this pattern I was thinking about Labs I have known, and their unfailing loyalty. Brego is the horse that is loyal to Aragorn in the movie Lord of the Rings, and he happens to be just about the same warm, glossy brown!
