A Touch of Lace
I found this yarn in a shop in Colorado and was inspired by the weight and the feel and made the purchase with absolutely no idea what I would make with it. At the same time, I have been totally intrigued by the stitch patterns in the Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible, by Hitomi Shida and translated by Gale Roehm. Since finishing the MHK program, I have been designing a collection of sleeveless tops, to be worn under jackets or sweaters, and decided to continue with one more. I started with the intention of using the lace stitch pattern throughout but realized I might not have purchased enough yarn, so I altered the pattern after 3 repeats of the lace. Once finished, I was pleased with the finished top but knew it could be improved. I made several minor changes, and this is the result.
