This was designed to fill a need. I have many house plants that need to hang in order to grow properly. Years ago, plant hangers were abundant in all colors, sizes, and materials. Today, they are difficult to find, especially in a large variety of colors. I experimented with many stitch patterns that would be strong enough to hold up under the weight of a plant. This design is quite strong and I have several that I have had in use for a number of years. In fact, the color will fade before the yarns give out and break down. It is an excellent week end project, not to mention, a good use for 1 skein stashes.
