The Fairisle Patch Cushion was a very popular workshop project and then a kit last year and is now available as a digital pattern.

You have raised £1400 for Cancer Research UK by buying this pattern last year, thank you very much.

The cushion is knitted in one piece with each section being worked off the other and therefore is created like a ‘log cabin’. Although the design uses a lot of colours, there are only 2 colours used in each row at any one time.

The cushion is knitted using 13 colours of Jamieson’s of Shetland - Spindrift and you will need one ball of each, the actual yarn amounts used are in brackets after each colour name. The colours are:

Shaela 102 (15g), Sholmit 103 (10g), Bramble 155 (9g),
Thistledown 237 (16g), Tundra 190 (19g), Fog 272 (9g),
Paprika 261 (8g), Camel 141 (11g), Blue Lovat 232 (4g),
Yellow Ochre 230 (3g), Moss 147 (9g), Mooskit 106 (8g),
Sunset 186 (4g)

The finished size of the cushion front is 49cm (19 ins) x 49cm (19 in) and a 50cm (19.5 ins) x 50cm (19.5 ins) machine washable cushion pad is needed. Marie always backs her cushion designs with tweed or velvet fabric which compliments the finished design and you will a piece of fabric which measures 49cm (19 ins) x 49cm (19 ins).
