A two-way pattern than can be made with or without thumbs. A self-striping or variegated yarn shows off the spiral construction, and each mitt can be worn on the left or right hand so that the spirals can twirl in either direction. A provisional cast-on is used, which is later grafted to the final row of knitting to form a neat, seamless tube. A circular needle is required for the thumbed version, whilst the thumbless model can be worked on straights.

You will need 100gr DK yarn, pair 4mm needles, set of 4mm DPNS or circular needle for thumbed version, waste yarn for provisional cast-on, stitch holder for thumbed version.
