All you can do is to become a member of Wollmeiseholics Anonymous on Ravelry. I chose the Lace yarn in a popular color reminiscent of beetroot in a lace pattern called Milanese Lace. The sha...
Knitting: Poncho, Fingerless Gloves
A poncho not reminiscent of the -70s but fashionable in addition to being warm, was my aim. It is easy to knit in 3 identical rectangular pieces but an intermediate challenge to sew together. The yarn I have chosen is a mixture of alpaca and mohair with a little acrylic from Texere Yarns.
Knitting: Cardigan
A short sleeve jacket for summer, made in silk, hence lovely to wear. The divine lace weight Jaipur Fino from BC Garn in a moss color is my choice. The lucina shell pattern gives a delicate expression perfect for the silk yarn. The cardigan is knitted in pieces and seamed for the best fit. The frontband has both a garter stitch part and a stock...
Knitting: Pullover, Cowl
Ivan Grundahl designed a summer sweater I could not take my eyes off. I found my yarn while visiting Borg, a tightly twisted cotton yarn with a weight intended for weavers, available on large cones. Ideal for my purpose, except the thickness so I decided to double it up. I can warmly recommend a day trip to Borg in Vittsjö, southern Sweden from...
Knitting: Neck / Torso - Other
Cone after cone, color after color of luscious Tencel at Handweavers Studio in London made my feel like the ground vanished from under me. I managed to short list a few colors and favoured this deep glossy red color, Ruby for a snood. You can wear it in different ways as a top, hood, belt or as a cowl. Find your own favourite color or make your...
Knitting: Cowl
A reversible cable snood, inspired by Laura Biagotti, was my point of origin. I choose the delicious wool and alpaca mixture from Berroco called Ultra Alpaca Fine, and held it double to make the cables pop.
Knitting: Pullover, Fingerless Gloves
A sweater inspired by Donna Karan’s style. I wanted to design a comfy yet trendy maxi sweater with a large collar that could be folded down on your shoulders. The yarn I chose has a subtle sheen and fabulous drape, made by Valley Yarns, and knitted double. The sweater is knitted in one piece so that the stitch pattern creates flattering vertica...
Knitting: Cowl, Cuffs
A beautiful subtle sheen mohair yarn shown off by an eyelet pattern, gives this set, consisting of a shrug and button-on wrist warmers, an elegant look. The color capsulates the essence of the lilac flower hence it is irresistible for warming your neck and shoulders. The Syrin Shrug can also be used as a hood or a cowl with wrist warmers that c...
Knitting: Cardigan
A Tweed jacket inspired by Christopher Kane’s elegant tweed version. My version has sleeves in stranded colourwork in stockinette stitch as a contrast to the tweed pattern made with slipped stitches on the body and a fitted waist. The tweed jacket has been given a vintage look, by using the fine Hillesvåg Alv Kamgarn held double.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Knitting with silk feels divine on your hands, and so does wearing your finished garment. I chose a tussah silk from Borg, now unfortunately discontinued, in a light yellow shade so I could accessorize with gold shoes, and a statement necklace. The shawl is knitted using two strands
