Both the child and adult versions of Elana’s Corkscrew Beanie, sized from preemie to large adult. Both patterns are written so you can work either flat on two needles or in the round on DPNs or circular needles.

The yarn used for this set is Manos del Uruguay Silk/Merino Blend, which is a super soft DK yarn. You can knit the whole set with just 100g of yarn, which makes this a pretty cheap gift set (or scrummy treat for yourself!)

I love hats, – I’d wear them all year round if I could. The 4ply yarn and the lace and cable pattern make Autumn Gold a lightweight lace and cable hat suitable for the in between seasons.

I designed the Zigzag Cowl and Mittens patterns for the Erika Knight yarn collection in 2012. Erika liked my previously released Zig Zag hat and asked me if I would like to design a matching cowl and mittens to help promote the yarn. The pattern was first released in print in the US, UK and Europe. The yarn is super smooshy and warm and lends itself well to the Zigzag pattern and accessories.

I was inspired by traditional Swedish Bohus stranded knitting for this and wanted the brim to be something different than the usual rib.  I was led to the Latvian Braid through various Google image searches and found myself learning this new and fun technique, which I quickly decided would be the main feature of the hat.

Seriously cosy mittens that are worked in stranded knitting to keep chills at bay. These mittens are knitted in the round, increasing for the thumb which is completed at the end. The pattern is fun to follow and knits up quickly.

A sunburst pattern in a gloriously rich yellow colour is guaranteed to put a smile on your face every time you see this hat! The lace pattern is worked in a Fyberspates Vivacious DK merino yarn, which provides excellent stitch definition.

This cosy worsted weight hat was born on Constantine Bay beach in Cornwall, UK. The pattern is fairly simple to knit up and makes a great TV project! The cables remind me of ripples in the sand. The hat is worked in the round from the cuff up and constists of knit and cabled stitches which are easily memorised.

This is a fun lace pattern that is easily memorised after a few repeats. The cowl is long enough to wear once round (below) or to twist up around your neck.

After making the Nordic Lace Hat, I thought the pattern repeat would look good on a pair of mittens too! My hands get really cold at work, so I wanted something stylish I could wear but still type at the same time! Thus the Nordic Lace Mittens were born… :)
