Oak is another Fair Isle design inspired by Eastern European folk art. OAK is a semi-fitted cardigan with extended shaped fronts that can be worn loose as styled or fastened with a beautiful pin.

’Oak Scarf’ from ‘Windswept’ is a great design to practise your Fairisle knitting. As it’s knitted in the round, you are only knitting Fairisle on the right side only and it only uses two colours throughout. Why not have a go!

The Rowan Cowl is a beautiful floral inspired cowl. This simple patterned design is essentially a single motif repeated throughout on a striping background of colour.

’Sage’ is probably the most popular design from ‘Windswept’ and I’ve seen many knitters version of it. I wear my original garment a lot and like any garment knitted in Felted Tweed, improves with age. This design was the original inspiration for the much complimented ‘Sage Throw’, which subsequently inspired the Fairisle Club.
