The blues and creams and browns of this yarn are reminiscent of the sun setting over the Anasazi’s cave-dwellings at Mesa Verde (CO). A few years ago we camped down there … and this shawl is a salute to the lovely memories: with the Ancient Pueblans’ cave openings scattered around the Mesa, the layers of the exposed earth showing their lovely, ...

NOTE: In Row 9 you will end with 35 sts (not 37). This is NOT an error. On Row 10, you will knit into the front and back of the 2 yo’s to get back up to the 37. This way the top of the shamrock does not have a larger YO than the rest of the leaves.
Knitting: Poncho
Shamrock lace (created by the designer), gorgeous green-tonal heavy-fingering weight yarn, and a waist-length poncho coalesce into this lovely lace poncho you’ll wear with a bit of the “Irish” spirit! This is probably my favorite sweater I’ve designed to-date! I love the way the cable is the focal point while the tweedy yarn in reverse stockinette adds a subtle, and delightful, texture. The cable is based on one in Elsbeth Lavold’s Viking Patterns for Knitting; my version includes a buttonhole in the center of each cable motif. The double-br...
Knitting: Scarf
